A Dog Mascot Will Be Crowned for This Arlington, VA Extended Stay Hotel


ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2011) - For millions of dog owners, life truly is better together with their four-legged friends. To celebrate these special relationships, the newly built Residence Inn Arlington Capital View will launch the TOP DOG contest to crown a doggie mascot for the pet friendly Arlington, VA extended-stay hotel.

One lucky winner will be selected at a one of a kind pooch event at the Crystal City, VA hotel on October 6th by a panel of judges including officers from the Arlington County K-9 division, veterinarians, doggie trainers and high profile dog lovers including Fox 5 Anchor Steve Chenevey and Tara DeNicolas, Executive Director of Fashion For Paws. The proud Top Dog owners will receive the Marriott travel benefits and a 10% discount at SOCCi urban Italian kitchen + bar at the hotel through May 31st, 2012.

Beginning August 15th through September 24th, dogs may be entered to win TOP DOG at this Arlington hotel by the Metro, by submitting photos and information with a $25 donation to the Washington Humane Society to participate in the event.

To be considered for the title of Residence Inn Arlington Capital View TOP DOG, all dogs must:

  • Be 75 pounds or less
  • Be able to perform basic commands; sit, stay, lay down
  • Be child friendly and well mannered
  • Be "doggie toilet trained"
  • Submit a photo and "tails" stories to showcase their good behaviors, habits and all around personality
  • Be willing to appear on the Residence Inn Arlington Capital View Facebook page as a "blogger"
  • Be willing to visit the hotel 1-3 times a month

Forms and donations may be submitted by visiting www.ResidenceInnArlingtonTopDog.com. Submissions may also be dropped off directly to the Arlington hotel suites front desk with a check made out to the Washington Humane Society.
