DiJiPOP Closes an Additional $1 Million Investment Round

PROVIDENCE, RI--(Marketwire - December 6, 2010) - DiJiPOP, a leading on-demand shopper marketing technology platform, today announced the closing of its latest investment round of $1M, bringing total funds raised to date to $2M. The company was launched just over a year ago out of Betaspring, a Rhode-Island based technology start up incubator. The funds will be used for sales and marketing expansion, technology development and creation of a client services division.

The investment round was led by Bill Cesare, a successful RI entrepreneur turned angel investor, who led DiJiPOP's initial investment round in late 2009. Others participating in the round include Angel Street Capital and various RI-based private investors.

"DiJiPOP is entering its second year of existence and momentum couldn't be stronger and more positive," said Ji Kim, founder and CEO of DiJiPOP. "Advertising programs are a top 2011 priority for the majority of the web's top retailers and there's strong interest in our technology-driven solution. This latest financial investment will help us move the discussions and current implementations forward into 2011."

In response to availability of investment dollars in the State of Rhode Island, Cesare said: "I've been building companies in Rhode Island for 25 years and I believe the new economy for this state and across the nation will be led by companies like DiJiPOP. There is a healthy pool of available investment support from local high net-worth investors for quality innovative startup companies."

Noteworthy 2010 milestones for DiJiPOP include:

  • Creation of nine jobs, including executive team members
  • Technology and architecture enhancements, including Insight™ analytics platform
  • Increasing clientele roster, inclusive of Internet Retailer Top 500
  • 2010 Rhode Island Innovation Award Finalist for Information Technology

DiJiPOP's proprietary POP Technology™ automates the digital shopper marketing process. Within minutes as opposed to weeks, retailers can run paid and non-paid marketing programs on their ecommerce websites. The on-demand platform creates product ads dynamically and allows both retailers and advertisers to manage, analyze and optimize campaigns in real time.
