Distinguished Investors Combine Talents to Advance Firm's Asset Allocation Efforts


HEATH, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 10, 2012) - Fund Architects LLC, a provider of dynamic asset allocation portfolios designed for a broad range of investors, today announced the firm has successfully recruited three prominent investment professionals to help direct the firm's asset allocation models.

The new team -- J.C. Waller, III, Henry Ma, Ph.D., CFA, and Jun Zhu, Ph.D., CFA, -- will immediately begin working with Burt Snover, who assumed the role of co-Chief Investment Officer earlier this year. Mr. Waller will serve as co-CIO.

According to Mr. Snover, who in addition to his investment work serves as the firm's president, the hirings successfully cap an intense search for proven asset allocation talent.

The Fund Architects Investment Team:

  • J.C Waller, co-Chief Investment Officer, was most recently Senior Director, Plan Advisory Services for Advised Assets Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Great West Life & Annuity in Denver. He formerly served as Senior Director, Investments for Old Mutual Asset Management, and previously as Vice President of Investments for ICON Advisers, Inc., where he was responsible for managing multiple institutional/private portfolios totaling approximately $2.2 billion. In addition to numerous appearances on CNBC and CNNfn, Mr. Waller has been featured in several leading investment publications, including Fortune, Forbes, Newsweek, Business Week, and Bloomberg. He earned his Masters in Finance and an International MBA from University of Denver.

  • Henry Ma, Ph.D., CFA, has been named Fund Architects' Chief Market Strategist. He previously served as a Global Macro Portfolio Manager for Fidelity Investments and as Director of Financial Engineering and Quantitative Research, Fixed Income for Loomis Sayles & Co., both in Boston. Dr. Ma earned BA and MA degrees in Finance and Economics from Beijing University and was awarded a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University.

  • Jun Zhu, Ph.D., CFA, previously served as a Senior Research Associate for Axa Rosenberg, one of the largest quantitative equity management firms in the world. Dr. Zhu received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Xian Jiaotong University, Peoples Republic of China. He earned an MPA in Economics and Public Policy and was awarded his Ph.D. from Princeton University. He has been named a Portfolio Manager for Fund Architects.

All three will serve with Mr. Snover on the Fund Architects Investment Committee.
